Yoga & Movement room
An oasis above the campsite
At Welgelegen, you have the opportunity to participate in yoga sessions and workouts right on-site. In the heart of our campsite, you’ll find our Yoga & Movement Room. You ascend the stairs at the wooden building and enter the space via the wooden door on the inviting rooftop terrace. A beautiful atmosphere awaits you above the rooftops and tents of the campsite. A sunlit space with natural clay walls and cozy cork flooring. More than enough room for small and large groups to move freely. Lined with an old piano and beautiful plants, yogis and athletes find their place here. Get comfortable with cushions, blankets, and yoga mats. Or join a group workout. Everything is there to feel comfortable, stay fit, and meet new people.
Cycling
Enjoy the Frisian countryside by bike
Various routes are ready for you and with the junctions app you can map out the perfect route for the day. You can determine your distance and route according to your wishes. Along the way you can enjoy the varied wide landscape.
You can sniff culture, enjoy fun shopping and enjoy a delicious lunch in the surrounding picturesque villages and towns. We are happy to inspire you and rent you a bicycle!
Canoeing
Experience the Frisian waterways from a canoe
The wetland area is a delight for enthusiasts. The IJsselmeer with the Elfsteden Hindeloopen and Workum, the Gaasterland forests and the Frisian lakes are a wonderful base for many active and outdoor holidays. Canoeing gives these Frisian waters a very special view and experience of nature.
To guarantee a wonderful outdoor holiday, you can come here with your own canoe and book your favorite rental accommodation or bring your own camping equipment.
No own canoe? We have a kayak (€25 per day) and two 1-person canoes (€12.50 per day) for rent for our guests.
Longboarding
Enjoy the Frisian countryside by bike
The many cycling paths are excellent for enjoying the beautiful surroundings with your longboard.
If you choose the quiet cycle paths, you will feel completely free. Choose a stopover at one of the many restaurants in the picturesque villages and you will experience Friesland optimally.
Don’t have your own longboard? No problem. At Welgelegen we have longboards for rent for €10 per day.

Kite school
Kiting, surfing, supping and foiling on the IJsselmeer
Kiteboarding-Club Holland with their Kiteschool is located on the camping site. For the students, Welgelegen is a perfect place to stay during the Kite course days. Lessons are given at the nearby Kitespots.
For kiters and students of Kiteboarding Club Hindeloopen, Welgelegen is a perfect place to stay at nearby Kitespots Mirns, Workum, Hindeloopen and Cornwerd, all located on the IJsselmeer. Depending on the wind, you can visit any beach.

Stand up paddle boarding on a surfboard. Suppen is a new water sport where you can relax, precisely because of the almost direct contact with the water and the direct nature. You hear and experience more through all your physical senses. While supping, you can view the Frisian environment from a different perspective.
Fishing
Friesland is internationally popular as a fishing spot. Friesland is one of the most beautiful and water-rich fishing provinces in the Netherlands and attracts many fishermen from home and abroad. In this beautiful area there are plenty of opportunities to practice your fishing.
walking
For cyclists and walkers there are various routes along Welgelegen campsite. Welgelegen has a unique location in Friesland, right at junction 19. Guests like to spend the night here who walk one of the many routes.
